Gwyneth Goes Skiing
Co-Directed & Written by: Linus Karp (he/him), Joseph Martin (he/they). Original Music by Leland (he/him).
The Egyptian Theatre in Park City, Utah; in Partnership with Pleasance Theatre Trust of London, announces a two-week engagement of the new London based hit play “Gwyneth Goes Skiing”.
This play with music recounts the now-infamous collision in 2016 on the slopes of Deer Valley and the court case seven years later that enthralled the world. Gwyneth Goes Skiing lampoons the story and weaves a very silly story of justice, betrayal and optometry that makes the audience the jury.
Gwyneth Goes Skiing stars Linus Karp as the Goop-founding, Door-Sliding, Shakespeare-Loving, Hollywood superstar Gwyneth Paltrow, and Joseph Martin as her nemesis, Terry Sanderson, a retired Optometrist from Utah. The performance features a whole lot of fiction and a sprinkling of verbatim lines from court transcripts.
Original music by Leland (RuPaul’s Drag Race; Cher’s Christmas). RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 3 winner Trixie Mattel featured in a special video cameo. Two extra special guest vocalists also perform in the production. Darren Criss (Glee, also Golden Globe and Emmy Award Winner), and Cat Cohen (NYC cabaret darling and Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Award Winner) are featured as the singing voices of Terry and Gwyneth respectively.
